Rep. Short's endorsement adds a veteran statewide Republican voice — and firsthand institutional knowledge of Dr. Katz's service in Dover — to the growing coalition backing the Katz campaign.

Dr. Katz faces the Republican primary election on September 15, 2026 against former U.S. Army Colonel John Shulli. The winner advances to the November general election against incumbent Senator Chris Coons.
